Applus buys the Portuguese Riportico to grow in the Portuguese market

Applus has acquired the Portuguese firm Riportico Engenharia, a provider of infrastructure design engineering and supervision services, to grow in the Portuguese market, the company announced Thursday.

Based in Cabanas de Viriato and founded in 2004, Riportico has more than 150 workers and income of 8 million euros.

"It is a highly attractive platform to continue growing in key industries for us, such as infrastructure, the environment or water treatment, while helping us to continue improving our margins. Its great experience and reputation place it in a privileged position to take advantage of the opportunities that are emerging in Portugal", stated López Serrano.

In this sense, Applus has highlighted that the Portuguese firm is "well positioned" in the management of infrastructure projects for more than 100 clients in the public sector, including road and rail networks, metro stations, airports, buildings, waste treatment plants, water and renewable energy.

Among Riportico's main services are the supervision and management of infrastructure projects, health and safety coordination, quality control, testing of construction materials and asset integrity management in all phases of a project, including studies. geotechnical, design review, safety, health and environmental impact assessment and technical audits.

"Riportico is very well positioned to benefit from the strong growth experienced by the infrastructure sector in the country after the pandemic, driven by the programs that the Portuguese government has launched to boost the economic recovery," adds Applus.

The Spanish company and Riportico have already worked as partners on projects related to the railway sector and public transport in Portugal.
