Autopsy: Roger Trindade died after blunt force trauma caused brain bleeding

An autopsy released Friday shows a teenager who was killed after a fight in Winter Park died from bleeding in the brain caused by a blow to the head.

The medical examiner ruled the death of Roger Trindade a homicide. The bleeding in the brain was apparently caused by a tear of an artery in his neck, the autopsy showed.

Roger also had bruising on the face and back of his head. It does not say if it was caused by a punch or a fall.

Roger, 15, was found unconscious Oct. 15 on Park Avenue in Winter Park after a fight. He was later taken off life support at the hospital.

Two 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy were charged in connection to his death.

The 15-year-old boys are charged with manslaughter and are set to go to trial later this month. The 14-year-old boy pleaded no contest to charges of tampering with a witness and simple battery last month.

The Orlando Sentinel is not naming the teens because of their ages. They have not been charged as adults.
