After more than 30 years of playing the matriarch of Quebecers' favorite animated family, Béatrice Picard is stepping down.

On Wednesday, studio Difuze inc. announced on Facebook that the 93-year-old woman had just participated in her last dubbing session for the role of Marge Simpson, which she has played in Quebec since the start of The Simpsons series in 1990.

Over the years, Ms. Picard has taken us on all sorts of adventures, like the time Marge found a Chanel ensemble at a discount store, or the time she went against the Springfield Monorail.

Béatrice Picard is not the first big piece to leave the Quebec version of the cult show. Hubert Gagnon, who played Homer, Marge's alcoholic husband with a heart of gold, left the show shortly before his untimely death in 2020.

The show won't be the same without the Homer and Marge of our childhoods, but the animated sitcom is still on the air. It is currently in its 34th season.
