BYD to supply 64 electric buses to Norwegian public transport operator Nobina

MADRID, 21 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The manufacturer of new energy vehicles and electric batteries BYD has received an order for 64 electric buses from the public transport operator Nobina Fleet Norge in Norway, the company reported Monday.

Specifically, BYD will supply Nobina with 40 12-meter low-floor electric buses and 24 15-meter low-entry units. Following delivery, scheduled for the second quarter of 2023, the vehicles will enter service on the routes operated by Nobina in the Nedre Glomma region.

The 64 buses ordered will incorporate BYD's iron phosphate battery technology, developed to offer safety, better performance and longer range. In addition, BYD's battery thermal management system increases reliability in extreme climates like Norway's.

The 12-meter low-floor electric buses offer a range of up to 450 kilometers on a single charge, while the 15-meter low-access buses have a capacity of 400 kilometers on a single charge.

Nobina has more than 300 BYD electric buses in service in its fleets, or on request, operating in cities and towns in Sweden, Norway and Finland.

Currently, there are more than 650 BYD buses in service, or on order, across the Nordic countries, and together they cover 55 million kilometers, reducing CO2 emissions by more than 59,000 tons.
