Lancashire police and firefighters in the UK were in for quite a surprise when they arrived at the scene of an animal rescue.

First called to come to the rescue of a large pigeon stuck on a roof, they finally realized that it was more like a dog.

The mastiff was simply on the roof of the residence and did not seem in danger.

The firefighters therefore used a ladder to rescue the animal before returning it to its owner. The operation lasted about twenty minutes.

It's impossible to know how the dog managed to get into such a position in the first place.
