Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes is dazzled in his first draft in his new role, having landed Kirby Dach in a three-team trade with the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Islanders. Thursday, just minutes after selecting Slovak Juraj Slafkovsky with the very first choice of the amateur auction.

As the Seattle Kraken prepared to pronounce the name of their new hope with the fourth round of speech, commissioner Gary Bettman appeared in front of the microphone to announce two transactions, each involving the CH.

The Habs first sent Alexander Romanov and the 98th overall pick to the Islanders for the 13th pick, then Hughes immediately sent that pick, along with the 66th, to the Blackhawks for Kirby Dach.

Chosen by the Illinois team with the third round of speech in 2019, after Jack Hughes (New Jersey Devils) and Kaapo Kakko (New York Rangers), Dach has 59 points in 152 duels.
