Car sales rise 19.16% in February and have already exceeded 138,000 units so far this year

Registrations of passenger cars and SUVs in Spain reached 74,001 units, 19.6% more compared to the 62,102 registered in the second month of 2022, according to data from manufacturer associations (Anfac), dealers (Faconauto) and sellers ( ganvam).

In the accumulated of the first two months of 2023, deliveries of cars in the Spanish market stood at 138,039 units, which represents a year-on-year increase of 32.1% in relation to the 104,470 units recorded in the same period of 2022.

By channel, private customers purchased 32,463 passenger cars and SUVs in February, an 8.6% increase, and 64,489 units accumulated in the year, 25.3% more, while companies registered 32,041 units in February, 12 .9% more, and 59,908 units since January, 25.9% more.

For their part, the 'rent a car' firms acquired 9,497 passenger cars and SUVs in the national market in the second month of 2024, which represents a strong increase of 148.9%, while in the accumulated figure up to February the figure it shot up 151.4%, up to 13,642 units.
