This is stated in the annual report on the remuneration of directors sent this Tuesday by the bank to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), which specifies that part of this remuneration responds to the results obtained by the group in 2022: 6,420 million euros, the highest in the entity's history and 38% higher than in 2021.

Specifically, Torres received 2.92 million euros in fixed remuneration in 2022, the same amount as in 2021, while the corresponding variable remuneration amounted to 4.63 million euros, compared to 4.24 million in 2021. .

In accordance with the entity's remuneration policy, 40% of the variable remuneration will be received in 2023 (half in cash and the other half in BBVA shares).

The remaining 60% (of which 40% is in cash and the rest in shares) will be delivered in the coming years, in equal parts and subject to compliance with pre-established multi-year evaluation indicators and other adjustments "that could reduce it".

The contribution in 2022 to Torres' retirement provision system has been 451,000 euros, compared to 340,000 euros in 2021, while remuneration in kind has amounted to 283,000 euros, below 328,000 euros in 2021.

This variable remuneration is subject to the same deferral and payment conditions in cash and shares as in the case of the chairman.

The CEO has a supplement to his fixed remuneration, instead of the retirement pension ('cash in lieu of pension'), and a mobility supplement, in view of his status as a senior international executive, two concepts for which He has received 1.25 million euros, the same amount as in 2021.

Additionally, the bank has paid Genç 155,000 euros of remuneration in kind, slightly below the 158,000 euros of 2021.

The bank highlights that the annual evaluation indicators for variable remuneration for 2022 were set at the beginning of the year taking into account the consensus of analysts at that time and providing them with "a higher level of ambition" than said consensus.

In 2022, the degree of achievement of the objectives was 130% for Torres, compared to 119% in 2021, and 133% for Genç, above 121% in 2021.
