The Quebecer has missed the last 13 meetings of his team due to an upper body injury. In 24 games so far in 2022-23, he has one goal and seven assists for eight points.

“It was a process that went well. It was the weather that was going to make sure I came back properly, Savard said of his injury. Quietly not quickly, it has improved and I can now come back with the team. It's never pleasant to be on the press gallery. I was looking forward to coming back, but I had to take the time necessary to heal.”

Moreover, the clash against the "Preds" will be the seventh and last game of a trip abroad. And this journey probably did not go as the team would have liked.

The Bleu-Blanc-Rouge won only one victory in this one, in its first game against the Arizona Coyotes. Thereafter, it was losses against the Colorado Avalanche, the Dallas Stars, the Florida Panthers, the Tampa Bay Lightning and more recently, the Washington Capitals.

During these five losses, the CH scored only eight goals and allowed 26.

Martin St-Louis' men are also in last place in the Atlantic Division standings, by virtue of a harvest of 33 points.

“We are going through a bit of a tougher time as a team. We have had tougher matches one after the other. It's a new year and we had a good practice yesterday [Monday]. I'm happy to be back and we'll try to get back on the winning track," said Savard.

For their part, the Predators are not doing much better, being sixth in the standings of the Central section, with 36 points. The Tennessee squad have won just three of their last 10 games.
