For the occasion, the company is making available all of its 143 movie theaters, spread over 10 complexes, in Greater Montreal. It will thus allow thousands of people to collectively experience this historic moment in the comfort of its cinemas.

At the initiative of the President and CEO of Cinémas Guzzo, Mr. Vincenzo Guzzo, and in collaboration with the Mgr Arthur Deschênes Foundation, thousands of people will have the opportunity to watch the broadcast of the great gathering and the mass free of charge. which will be held at the Basilica of Sainte-Anne de Beaupré on July 28 at 10 a.m.

More than 15,000 people will gather for the event, including First Nations, Métis and Inuit people, survivors and victims of residential schools and their families.

"The visit of Pope Francis is historic," says Mr. Guzzo. “It is important that we speak with the indigenous peoples on Canadian soil about the aftermath and the consequences of the actions of members of the Catholic Church in the painful and unacceptable file of indigenous residential schools in the country.”

Access to the event in cinemas will be free, but voluntary donations will be collected under the direction of the Mgr Arthur Deschênes Foundation. They will be donated in full to the fundraising campaign for the papal visit.
