Quebec deplored 26 new deaths linked to COVID-19 on Thursday, while the province reported 1,108 new positive cases on its territory.

One of them would have died in the last 24 hours, while 23 deaths would rather have occurred in the last seven days. The last two deaths date back more than seven days, according to a report from the Ministry of Health and Social Services.

Currently, 2,059 patients are reportedly occupying hospital beds, including 711 due to COVID-19. On this, 57 people would be hospitalized in intensive care, including 25 due to the virus.

On Wednesday, 96 people tested positive for COVID via self-reported tests. Since the last assessment, 6,383 doses of additional vaccines have been administered.

Currently, 3,036 health care workers are said to be absent from work for reasons related to the virus, whether in preventive withdrawal, isolation or awaiting results.
