Quebec reported eight deaths linked to COVID-19 as well as a slight increase in hospitalizations on Tuesday.

Currently, 1,181 Quebecers with COVID-19 are hospitalized, an increase of four from the previous day. The number of beds occupied in intensive care, for its part, remained stable (32, -1).

Among people with access to screening centers, there are 513 new infections, while 204 rapid tests have proven positive.

According to Santé Québec, 3,868 health network workers are absent due to COVID-19 (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.)

On the other side of the Ottawa River, the number of hospitalizations increased (808, 197) while the number of people in intensive care decreased slightly (140, -7). In addition, 14 Ontarians have succumbed to the disease over the past day.

The most populous province in the country recorded 590 new infections using a PCR test.
