Credit Suisse will pay 238 million to settle an investigation in France

MADRID, 24 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Swiss bank Credit Suisse has reached an agreement with the Parquet National Financier (PNF) to settle an investigation related to cross-border private banking services through the payment of 238 million euros, as reported by the entity.

The liquidation provides for the return of profits amounting to 65.6 million euros and the payment of an additional 57.4 million euros, in addition to paying 115 million to the French State as damages.

"The bank is pleased to resolve this matter, which marks another important step in the proactive resolution of litigation and legacy matters," Credit Suisse said, adding that the settlement does not imply an acknowledgment of criminal liability.

Credit Suisse is scheduled to publish its third quarter accounts on Thursday and will also announce a strategic update on the same day.
