Côte-Saint-Luc: two suspects apprehended after the invasion of the home of a nonagenarian

Montreal and Ottawa police departments joined forces on Friday to arrest two suspects suspected of committing a home invasion in which they allegedly tied up a nonagenarian at her home in Côte-Saint-Luc, on the island of Montreal.

James Adam Houle, 44, and Tholfikar Kadhum, 26, were apprehended on October 28 at approximately 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a shopping center in Orleans, a suburb of Ottawa, police said. of the City of Montreal (SPVM) on Monday.

A search of their vehicle also allowed SPVM investigators to seize a firearm and find several items stolen during the event in Côte-Saint-Luc, in addition to getting their hands on additional evidence.

The two suspects appeared at the Montreal courthouse and face several charges, including break and enter, forcible confinement, robbery and breach of conditions. Houle also faces charges related to possession of a firearm. They both remain detained.

On October 22, 2022, around 5:30 a.m., two masked individuals broke down the door of a condo located in the city of Côte-Saint-Luc, and then tied up the occupant. The thieves stole valuables before fleeing.

Later in the day, the victim was found tied up by a family member, who immediately alerted 911. The victim, who sustained injuries to his hands and forearms, was taken to hospital in the arrival of the police.
