Masterful in the role of Una, Gabrielle Ferron won the prize for female interpretation from the Association québécoise des critiques de théâtre for her enormous performance in the theater play Blackbird. She personifies a young woman who finds, fifteen years later, the man who assaulted her when she was 12 years old. An intense, disturbing and tension-filled face-to-face where the actor Réjean Vallée shines in the skin of a man who is trying to rebuild his life after six years of detention. It's offered in the form of a movie theater until May 30.

In this documentary, which hit theaters yesterday, director Joannie Lafrenière paints a portrait of Hungarian-born Montreal photographer Gabor Szilasi, who has spent the past 60 years documenting daily life in his new home, the Quebec. Built around meetings and discussions with the 94-year-old humanist artist, the film evokes his journey, from his arrival in Canada in 1957 after fleeing the Hungarian revolution, but also testifies to his vision of photography, life and of old age.
