According to what the police investigation has established, Fritznel Richard is likely to have died of hypothermia during his attempt to access American soil.

His body bore no marks of violence, confirmed the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) on Friday.

A coroner's inquest will take place to try to establish the circumstances of the death.

"Mr. Richard is the man who was wanted by the Sûreté du Québec during the holiday season, between December 27 and 29. Fritznel Richard was found unresponsive on Wednesday afternoon, shortly before 3 p.m., near Roxham Road.
