Lawrence Rudolph, 67, was found guilty of shooting dead his wife, 34-year-old Bianca Rudolph, after a three-week trial in Denver.

The 60-year-old was also found guilty of mail fraud.

The prosecutor was able to demonstrate the scheme devised by Lawrence Rudolph to touch his wife's insurance policy, in order to start fresh with his 20-year-old mistress.

In 2016, the authorities had bought the version of the murderer, who claimed that his wife had accidentally shot herself in the chest while handling a weapon quickly. They had believed the man who claimed to have no reason, since he was in an open couple. Lawrence Rudolph had also hinted that the insurance proceeds would be placed in a trust for his children.

However, the investigation resumed a few years later, when Lawrence Rudolph got carried away at the restaurant during an argument with his mistress.

"I killed my fucking wife for you," he said, according to the "Toronto Sun."

The prosecutor proved at trial that the bullet that killed the woman was fired from a distance of more than two feet.

The mistress was found not guilty in the case.
