The set of deposits of households and companies resident in Spain stood at 1.296 trillion euros in October, which represents a decrease of 1.23% in the month, but an increase of 4.67% compared to a year earlier , according to provisional data from the Bank of Spain.

Family savings increased by 4.73% compared to a year earlier, standing at 987,000 million euros, although compared to the previous month it decreased by 0.55%, chaining three consecutive months down after having linked previously eleven months of increases.

On the other hand, business deposits increased by 4.48% in the year, up to 309,700 million euros, although they decreased by 3.33% compared to the level registered in September.

The deposits of all residents in Spain were placed at 1.599 trillion euros in the tenth month of the year, which represents an increase of 1.54% in the year and a decrease of 0.95% compared to the previous month.

The amount of deposits of residents in Spain plus that of those abroad stood at 1.669 trillion euros in October, which represents an increase of 2.25% compared to the same month a year earlier and a fall of 1.04% compared to September.
