Deputies search for Domino's Pizza armed robbery suspect

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect in an early morning armed robbery Saturday west of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

At about 4:17 a.m., a masked man reportedly went into the Domino’s Pizza restaurant at 8687 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway armed with a handgun, Sheriff’s Office Lt. James A. Sykes said.

Flashing his firearm, the man then demanded cash from an employee. Once he received his loot, he walked away from the scene and headed west, Sykes said.

No one was injured in the armed robbery, Sykes said. Multiple employees witnessed the incident.

Officials did not say how much money the unidentified suspect made it away with from the pizza place.

The suspect is described as standing about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing a ski mask at the time of the armed robbery.

Detectives continue to investigate the incident.

No further information was immediately available Saturday.

Anyone with information about the armed robbery should call the Sheriff Office at 407-254-7000 or report tips anonymously to Crimeline at 407-423-8477.
