Driving to LAX this week? Brace yourself for overnight lane closures.

Drivers headed to Los Angeles International Airport late Tuesday and Wednesday can expect delays due to overnight lane closures in the Sepulveda Boulevard tunnel.

LAX officials are advising motorists to give themselves extra time for possible detours when Caltrans closes two northbound lanes in the tunnel from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday for inspections. The work will happen again on the opposite side Wednesday, when two southbound lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday.

Drivers are encouraged to use Century Boulevard or the 96th Street Bridge as alternates, download the WAZE navigation app and check the Airport Police and LAX Twitter accounts for updates.

For more information, contact the Caltrans District 7 Public Affairs Office at 213-897-3656.
