A person was found unresponsive after a fire heavily damaged an apartment building on Wednesday evening in Drummondville, in the Centre-du-Québec region.

The firefighters received the call around 11:20 p.m., according to the Division Chief at the Drummondville Fire Department, Andrew Barr. When they arrived at the scene, firefighters found that smoke was coming from the basement of the four-unit building. A person was found unresponsive in the dwelling, and resuscitation measures were carried out until the arrival of paramedics. The victim was transported to a hospital and his state of health remains unknown.
