It will receive financing lines and regional incentives agreed with the Ministry of Industry and with the Junta de Extremadura

The Envision group confirmed on Tuesday its intention to maintain its plan for the creation of a battery manufacturing ecosystem for electric vehicles in Spain and make the country "the center of its activities in Europe" with the construction in Navalmoral de la Mata (Cáceres) of a gigafactory of batteries, despite the fact that the project has not been included in the definitive distribution of the funds allocated to the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation of the Electric and Connected Vehicle (Perte VEC).
Within the framework of this ecosystem of batteries for electric vehicles, a plant for the production of green hydrogen and electrolyzers in Castilla-La Mancha and another for the assembly of wind turbines in Castilla y León are also included.
This has been stated by the company in a statement in which it recalled that last July it signed a general protocol of understanding with the Government of Spain and with the regional executives involved in these projects.
"Envision submitted an application to the Electric and Connected Vehicle (VEC) Perte for electric vehicles launched by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism considering that the program could be an opportunity to facilitate the development of the battery plant project in Extremadura In parallel, Envision, the Ministry and the Junta de Extremadura have been exploring other cooperation mechanisms to facilitate the financing of the project", explained the company in relation to the fact that this project is not included in the distribution of the Perte VEC , which has been known this Tuesday.
In this sense, the company has insisted that both the Ministry of Industry and the Junta de Extremadura have expressed to Envision their "firm intention to immediately accompany" the gigafactory project with a "combination of support mechanisms more appropriate for the industry of battery manufacturing.
"Mechanisms that will include, but not only, financing lines framed in the Recovery Plan where the activities of these industries have a natural fit, a line of regional incentives or financing through the Productive Industrial Investment Support Fund (Faiip) ", has added Envision.
In fact, the entity has stressed its "gratitude to the Government of Spain and the Junta de Extremadura" for their support. In this sense, he stressed that the gigafactory "will be a very important step" in the industrial development of Extremadura and will contribute "significantly" to the transition of Spain towards an economy free of greenhouse gas emissions.
Envision is an international conglomerate of companies "committed" to the environment and with the goal of driving the transition to an economy without greenhouse gas emissions.
To do this, it develops equipment for the generation of renewable energy, the storage of energy in the form of hydrogen, the manufacture of car batteries and digital solutions that facilitate this transition.
The Government, through the Ministries of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, signed a collaboration protocol with Envision last July to promote four projects in the fields of battery manufacturing, renewable energy generation, energy storage, digital technologies and renewable hydrogen, with an estimated investment of 3,800 million euros, with the support of Next Generation EU funds.
One of Envision's projects is the gigafactory for batteries for electric vehicles in Navalmoral de la Mata, with an investment of 2,500 million euros and which could create 3,000 direct jobs.
In addition, the Asian capital firm will develop a factory for the production of renewable hydrogen and the manufacture of electrolysers in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real), with an investment that could reach 900 million and that will generate between 500 and 700 direct jobs, as well as as a wind power generation and wind turbine assembly plant in Las Navas del Marqués (Ávila), worth 100 million euros and which will employ 110 people.
Envision's fourth project in the country is a center for the development and innovation of digital products, in a location yet to be decided, which will bring an investment of 300 million euros and will create 300 direct jobs.
