Ferrovial has been rated as one of the most sustainable companies in the construction and engineering sector, according to the 2022 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), prepared by the agency S

As reported in a statement, this position responds to the company's solidity in environmental, social and economic performance, which has led it to be part of the DJSI indices for the last 21 years.

For this reason, it has reinforced its plan by presenting the 2030 Sustainability Strategy, which revolves around three axes: environment, community and governance, and is aligned with the business strategy, the Horizon 24 plan. Ferrovial has been recognized by AENOR as the first company in certifying its Sustainability Strategy with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) promoted by the United Nations.

The company also carries out different initiatives at the social level to guarantee equal opportunities or investment in the community with social programs that have improved the living conditions of more than 558,000 people.

The DJSI index was created in 1999 and included Ferrovial in 2002. Currently, around 2,500 companies are part of the universe eligible for the DJSI world index and 10% of these are selected after passing an analysis carried out by the company RobecoSAM.
