The summer arts are back for a second consecutive year, deploying their musical, literary and theatrical events on stages across the province. The Journal offers you its five programming essentials.
Joe Bocan signs with this show a tribute to the work of the late Sylvain Lelièvre, who died two decades ago. His timeless Marie-Hélène, Petit matin, Old Orchard and others What have we done with our dreams? are revisited there by a host of artists from all walks of life, including Stéphane Archambault, Daniel Boucher and Florence K. Because we all have a duty, collectively, to keep the memory of this great poet and singer alive.

The novel Kukum – winner of the France-Québec literary prize in 2020 – is now moving from the pages to the stage. This story of Almanda Siméon, a Quebec orphan living with the Innus of Pekuakami, will thus take on a whole new dimension thanks to this reading carried by the voice of the actress Dominique Pétin,

Guylaine Tremblay and Michel Tremblay on the same poster? It didn't take much to get our attention. The actress will take over the role of Nana this week for a reading of this contemporary classic. It's full of earthy and bad faith replies... but it's above all divine.

They were larger than life. And though the years have passed, they have in no way eroded the weight and grandeur of their timeless works. Renaud Paradis and Julie Daoust slip into the skin of Jacques Brel and Barbara, just to recreate the meeting of these two sacred monsters of French song.

After the radio, the boards. Jean-Sébastien Girard transposes this time his program JS Tendresse in theaters, inviting his spectators into a musical universe as retro as it is soft and colorful. A unique opportunity to see icons such as Marie Denise Pelletier, Johanne Blouin, La compagnie créole and Herbert Léonard gathered on the same stage. Nostalgics are already quivering with impatience.
