The Lehigh Valley may see some snow on Saturday, but don't break out the sleds just yet.

"Accumulations will be modest compared to the last winter storm," AccuWeather Meteorologist Mike Doll said in the agency's forecast for the winter weather expected Saturday afternoon and evening. And that's saying something when the last round brought less than a half-inch of snow.

The National Weather Service calls for less than an inch of snow for the Lehigh Valley, and just about everywhere else around the New York-Philadelphia area.

Ice and a wintry mix could make things interesting for travelers heading south or west this weekend, though.

AccuWeather expects some ice accumulation from Pittsburgh to Delaware and areas south along Interstate 81, creating potentially hazardous road conditions or airport delays. Exactly where the line is all depends on the temperature.

"A subtle rise or fall in temperature by as little as a couple of degrees can mean the difference between a dangerous thin coating of ice and somewhat less-hazardous snow," Sosnowski said.

Looking ahead: The National Weather Service forecast calls for a light wintry mix Monday night into Tuesday that could affect the morning commute.
