UGT hopes that, after evaluating the factory and analyzing possible future investment alternatives, they can "obtain answers" from Ford's global management team in a "reasonable time", to "negotiate measures to resolve this delicate situation in benefit of all," said UGT in a statement.
The majority union has stressed that it is "essential" that the multinational "react in a few months", because otherwise "it will be sending a message of uncertainty on the part of Ford, at the same time very unexciting for the future."
UGT has explained that it is holding meetings with the European Works Council in order to reach "a joint strategy in the face of the current situation."
"In our case, and in the opinion of UGT, the first action that we can carry out with the intention that Ford makes a statement in deadlines that still leave room for reaction, is to condition possible negotiations to the deadlines in which decisions are made. , just as we are doing given the current situation", pointed out the union, which has refused to negotiate a new Temporary Employment Regulation File (ERTE) in the face of the production declines in Almussafes until the company's investments are clarified. electrification.
From STM Intersindical, its spokesperson Daniel Portillo has assessed the visit to a factory as "very positive", he recalled, which has brought "huge benefits" to the multinational. The union representative hopes that during this visit "the news of the coming of electric vehicles will arrive," "although it is already getting late because the electrification agreement was signed more than a year and a half ago."
STM considers this announcement "more than necessary" "to remove the negative atmosphere of uncertainty and discomfort" among the staff.
Likewise, STM Intersindical hopes that the management will meet with the entire Works Council, including this union, "in favor of plurality, democracy and transparency" and "out of respect for the entire workforce." He has assured that the union is "always open to negotiation."
