García Maceiras: "Inditex has and will continue to maintain its headquarters in Spain"

A CORUÑA, 15 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The CEO of Inditex, Oscar García Maceiras, highlighted this Wednesday that the company founded by Amancio Ortega "has and will continue to maintain its headquarters in Spain", without wishing to comment on Ferrovial's decision to move its headquarters to the Netherlands.

"All its parent companies have and will continue to have their headquarters in Spain", highlighted the CEO at the press conference on the occasion of the presentation of the group's annual results, with record profits, sales and dividends.

García Maceiras has highlighted the "headquarters effect" of the company, a consequence of "having its registered office and fiscal headquarters in Spain", which means payments to suppliers for an amount of 6,000 million euros, a tax contribution of 1,800 million and a total of 7,479 million euros, with a global tax rate located at 23%, as indicated.

"Spain is our first market, the market in which we were born, in which we feel comfortable and for which we will continue to invest", he underlined.

Regarding criticism of profits and business margins, the CEO did not want to comment. "I limit myself to focusing on what affects us, on results with which we are very satisfied. I am enormously proud of the 175,000 people who give their all every day. I do not enter into these demonstrations."
