A 31-year-old man was arrested Wednesday afternoon in his residence in the Hull sector, in Gatineau, Outaouais, following an investigation into several sexual assaults committed on minors.

Three people have filed a complaint against Patrick Nzoberera to date, the Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) said in a press release on Thursday.

The man was transported to the police station to meet the investigators and remained detained until his appearance.

He was charged Thursday before the Court of Quebec with aggravated sexual assault, having had sexual contact with a person under the age of 16, having lured a person under the age of 16 and under the age of 18. years, obtaining sexual services from a person under the age of 18 for monetary consideration and transmitting sexually explicit material to a person under the age of 16.

The police department said the investigation is still ongoing and further charges may be forthcoming.
