The Chat GPT artificial intelligence tool continues to impress people who use it and the software could go even further by teaming up with a search engine, which could then dethrone the giant Google, according to an expert.

Microsoft wants to use Chat GPT by integrating it into its Bing search engine, which has been losing ground for several years and could therefore become a serious competitor to Google.

"Chat GPT is a great tool, but it is not a search engine in itself and cannot go on the Internet, so it answers questions, it can find and formulate texts", recalled Martin Bouchard, president and co-founder of QScale.

If the fusion of an artificial intelligence with a search engine could make it possible to perfect the latter, several important societal issues are to be taken into consideration now, according to Mr. Bouchard.

"They've been training [Chat GPT] with data up to 2021 and they're scaling that up so that there's 20, 30, 50 times more knowledge and then plus it's going to learn with all the interactions with humans, he summed up. We're only seeing the tip of the iceberg right now."

Organizations are still being set up to try to regulate the use of artificial intelligence.

“It’s a tool, it gives us strength to do deeper things. I think it will affect a lot of professions, such as translation or revision, ”said Mr. Bouchard.
