After playing for free at the popular Salon des Cent on rue Saint-Denis at the start of his career, then creating his own TV show on a community channel, Guy Nantel was finally accepted at the National School of Humor which had just open its doors. The determined 21-year-old Montrealer came out of it in 1989, diploma in hand.

After starting his career behind the cameras, in 1995 Guy Nantel presented Par la porte d’en loin, his first solo show that he produced himself, a fabulous business card. It will be shortly after voted revelation of the year by Just for Laughs.

At the 2005 Just for Laughs Festival, Guy Nantel presented his second show, Les Vraies Affaires. Alone on stage with his microphone, he already criticized the failings of society and provoked the public on a large number of social subjects.
