The critical situation in hospitals is forcing the government to put in place additional measures to encourage workers to stay at work.

According to information obtained by TVA Nouvelles, as of this Friday, overtime worked will be paid at double time. This includes hours worked on weekends.

The absenteeism rate hurts the health network. In addition to vacations, the network must combine many absences related to COVID-19 infections.

Double time premiums for workers were withdrawn on May 16, 2022 in the face of declining hospital traffic.
