MADRID, 19 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Inditex has reached an agreement in principle with the multinational Regency Group to transfer the management of the operations of its Zara and Zara Home brands in Argentina and Uruguay, as reported by the distribution group.

With this agreement, Inditex standardizes the management model of its brands with that developed in most markets in the region, through a franchise contract managed by Regency, a business group that has been operating "with great success" of Inditex brands in countries such as Colombia, Peru, Panama, Ecuador and Paraguay.

After the closing of this operation, Regency Group will add to its team the entire workforce of Inditex collaborators in Argentina and Uruguay, which exceeds a thousand people.

Zara and Zara Home currently have eleven stores in Argentina and four in Uruguay, which when the operation is completed, according to the company, will continue to offer "their range of quality fashion and their commitment to excellent customer service from both countries".

"Zara's solid presence in Argentina and Uruguay is undoubtedly linked to the commitment to its local customers demonstrated over 25 years of uninterrupted commercial presence," underlined the group founded by Amancio Ortega.

Specifically, Zara has offered its own collections for the Southern Hemisphere since its arrival in the Argentine market, a practice that the company adopted to more closely follow the fashion trends adapted to the market.

For this, it has, at its headquarters in Spain, design, product development and commercial teams, among others, specific to this region, which work in parallel to those for the Northern Hemisphere.

"Inditex's commercial teams will continue to be closely linked to the activity of its brands in Argentina and Uruguay, as is the case in all the countries in the region where similar agreements are operated," the Galician firm has pointed out.

Regency Group has a presence in 13 Latin American countries, more than 5,000 employees and more than 400 stores in the region.
