Industrial production in Germany increased by 0.2% in November

The production of the industrial sector in Germany registered a rise of 0.2% last November compared to the previous month, when it had fallen 0.4%, according to data published this Monday by the Federal Statistical Office, Destatis.

Compared to the same month in 2021, German industrial production registered a decline of 0.4%, compared to the year-on-year contraction of two tenths in October.

Discounting energy and construction, industrial production increased by 0.5% in seasonally adjusted terms compared to October 2022.

Within industry, the production of intermediate goods increased by 1.1% and the production of capital goods by 0.7%. On the other hand, the production of consumer goods decreased by 1.5%.

Compared to November 2021, the increase in industrial production, excluding energy and construction, was 0.5% in November 2022.

Outside of industry, energy production last November increased by 3%. Also, construction production was 2.2% lower than the previous month.
