Industry turnover rose 17.1% in October compared to the same month in 2021, mainly due to the boost in sales from the energy sector, which increased by 47.5%, according to data released this Wednesday. by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

The interannual increase in October is 4.4 points lower than that registered in September and the least pronounced since March of this year. Despite this, the industry's turnover now adds up to 20 consecutive months of promotions after having previously chained a year of negative year-on-year rates due to the Covid crisis.

In monthly terms (October over September) and seasonally and calendar adjusted data, the industry cut its sales by 2.3%, in contrast to the monthly decrease of 3.4% experienced in September.
