Investissement Québec posts a return of 7.5%

Investissement Québec (IQ) posted a return of 7.5% during its most recent financial year, which ended on March 31, indicates the annual report of the crown corporation, tabled Thursday in the National Assembly.

This return is comparable to the 25.1% recorded in 2020-2021 and the -5.1% posted in 2019-2020.

IQ generated net profits of $345 million in 2021-2021, compared to $992 million in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, the institution suffered a net loss of $180 million.

During its last fiscal year, IQ carried out 4,891 financial transactions with a total value of $4.9 billion. Of this amount, $2 billion came from the organization's own funds and $2.9 billion from the Economic Development Fund (FDE) of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation.

In 2020,2021, IQ had carried out 4403 financial interventions with a total value of $4.5 billion ($2 billion from its own funds and $2.5 billion from the EDF).

As for the total compensation of IQ CEO Guy Leblanc, it reached $888,000 in 2021-2022, compared to $839,000 the previous year.
