She notably recalled that these are allegations that were put forward in the article in “La Presse” Thursday morning and not formal accusations.

"It's a choice that these people make, you have to respect their choice, but it will in no way achieve a legal result," she explained at the microphone of QUB radio.

“It is certain that we must take the path of denunciation, the police, the DPCP, etc. But unfortunately there were so many people who were disappointed, there are movements like MeToo who decided to say “listen, we want to denounce this misconduct, these allegations, there are too many of them, there nothing happens”. There is frustration at the public level,” said Ms. Gibeault.

However, the former judge welcomed the decision of the whistleblowers by mentioning that she had been “very surprised” by the news, because of the reaction of Philippe Bond last week to allegations of a comedian and possible procedures. that he planned to start against him.

According to her, the reaction to these types of allegations has evolved enormously in recent years, making it easier for victims to testify.
