Montreal Canadiens prospect Joshua Roy has signed an amateur tryout contract with the Laval Rocket.

The American Hockey League (AHL) farm club made the announcement on Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the 18-year-old forward's season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (LHJMQ) ended. .

The fifth-round pick (150th overall) from the CH in the 2021 draft was the QMJHL's top scorer in 2021-2022. In 66 games, he hit the target 51 times and provided 68 assists for 119 points.

At the end of last March, the Canadiens awarded Roy a three-year entry contract. This agreement will begin in 2022-2023.
