The 32-year-old American's loan in Liga MX is valid until December 31.

The former Toronto FC is unrecognizable this season with only one goal scored in 17 games, including four starts. He also featured in two CONCACAF Champions League games earlier in the campaign.

Altidore was an important member of the 'Reds' squad from 2015-2021, scoring most of his 78 MLS goals in their uniform. The Queen City team parted ways with the forward at the end of last season after disappointing performances. His departure had allowed Toronto to hire the Italian Lorenzo Insigne.

The veteran has also suffered various injuries over the past few years. He is under contract with the Revolution until 2024.
