A collision a priori caused by the dangerous driving of a minor led to a serious accident causing a serious injury, Monday afternoon, in Rawdon, in Lanaudière.

Emergency services were called to intervene Monday at 5:30 p.m. on chemin du Lac-Morgan near chemin Bélair, in Rawdon.

According to initial information from the Sûreté du Québec, a vehicle overtook the opposite lane before colliding with another vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 38-year-old man, was seriously injured.

Police arrested the overtaking driver for dangerous driving. The latter, under the age of 18, was transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Investigators and reconstructionists were dispatched to the scene to establish the causes and circumstances of the collision. The road is closed to traffic and detours will be erected.
