In Italy, the Quebecer had to settle for 16th place at the end of the sprint, which he started from 15th place. He nevertheless finished 10th in Sunday's race.

With better qualifying and a few places gained in the sprint, the Aston Martin team driver could go there with one of his good performances of the campaign.

Lately, Stroll made up for his lackluster performance in qualifying with several overtakes in the race. He finished 10th in Montreal and 11th at Silverstone, so he comes to Austria with a little confidence.

“It’s a short and fun circuit, fast and relentless. You always push to the limit to maximize lap time, Stroll said Wednesday, his remarks echoed by the Next-Gen Auto site. I've had some good results there in recent years and I feel like we can do something good there if we have a clean weekend."

At the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, the 23-year-old has finished eighth and seventh in the two most recent editions of the Styrian Grand Prix.

“It’s easier to overtake there than at Imola, the circuit that hosted the last sprint. So I hope to see more action this Saturday afternoon,” Stroll said.
