McClanahan misses his start
Holder of the best earned run average in major baseball in 2022 (1.71), Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Shane McClanahan, used as a starter for the American League, completely missed his entry into the scene.
The Florida team gunner first gave Ronald Acuna Jr. a double, before seeing him cross home plate on a single from local favorite Mookie Betts.
Two batters later, Paul Goldschmidt gave the fans a treat by kicking one of McClanahan's offerings into the stands, giving the National League stars a temporary 2-0 lead.
McClanahan eventually allowed two runs on four hits.
