According to what the TSN network has learned, the 24-year-old Russian has hired agent Dan Milstein of Gold Star Hockey. The latter notably represents his teammates Nikita Kucherov and Andrei Vasilevskiy.

Next season, Sergachev will play the final year of a three-year contract that earns him $4.8 million annually.

He could become a restricted free agent in the summer of 2023. He will also be eligible for a contract extension soon.

The first-round pick (ninth overall) of the Montreal Canadiens has seven goals and 31 assists for 38 points in 78 regular season games in 2021-2022. He also had 10 points in 23 playoff games.

Sergachev has been playing for the Bolts since June 2017, after CH traded him to Tampa Bay in return for forward Jonathan Drouin. He had played the first four games of his National League career with the Habs.
