During a Monaco Grand Prix marked by rain and two red flags, Lance Stroll was able to gain a few places on Sunday, but he had to settle for 14th position at the finish line.

Qualified 18th, Stroll started his working day badly. During a warm-up lap behind the safety car, he slipped and hit the wall, which caused a puncture. Penultimate, he opted for the intermediate tires.

The Montrealer was then able to catch up with the peloton, notably making a rare overtaking in the streets of Monaco at the expense of Yuki Tsunoda (AlphaTauri), not without slipping during the maneuver.

After a red flag caused by a violent exit from the track by Mick Schumacher (Haas), Stroll was unable to overtake Daniel Ricciardo (McLaren).

His teammate Sebastian Vettel meanwhile finished 11th, but a penalty to Esteban Ocon (Alpine) allowed him to take the point for 10th place.

In front, Sergio Perez (Red Bull) triumphed, inheriting the first position by virtue of a favorable strategy. He was ahead of Carlos Sainz Jr. (Ferrari), Max Verstappen (Red Bull), Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and George Russell (Mercedes).

Verstappen therefore remains at the top of the drivers' standings with 125 points, nine more than Leclerc.

The Formula 1 circus will move to Azerbaijan, in two weeks, and to Montreal, in three weeks, for the Canadian GP.
