Montmagny: a motorcyclist pursued seriously injured

A motorcyclist was seriously injured when police tried to intercept him on Monday evening in Montmagny.

According to preliminary information from the Bureau of Independent Investigations (BEI), Sûreté du Québec police officers captured the motorcyclist traveling at 80 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Poirier Road.

They would then have turned around to intercept it.

Less than a kilometer further, the 40-year-old motorcyclist reportedly left the road.

Seriously injured, he was taken to a hospital center where he was in stable condition, according to information available in the evening.

As a person suffered serious injuries during a police intervention, the BEI was instructed to shed light on the circumstances of the event.

Five of its investigators have been assigned to the file, in addition to officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Québec who will act as a support police service.

The BEI asks anyone who witnessed this event to contact them via their website.
