The youngster could start on the practice squad, but again, injuries will dictate when these guys are used.

About Stanback, the man of confidence, it is already agreed that he will play next Friday, in Montreal, during the second preseason game against Ottawa.

Antwi is one step ahead

Quebecer Ryth-Jean Giraud will also have a lot to do to dislodge Jeshrun Antwi for the position reserved for a Canadian running back.

During Saturday night's game at Hamilton, Antwi was limited to six yards on three carries. We also assessed his talent for feigning, blocking, giving time to his quarterback. Bolduc and the Alouettes also like to use running backs as potential targets.

“We always have a dressed Canadian [among the running backs]. Antwi, who knows an exceptional camp, and the little [Ryth-Jean] Giraud, who we fished out, are fighting for this position, ”explained Bolduc.

In all likelihood, the challenge for Giraud will be mainly to convince the Alouettes that he has his place with the club, even if it means going through the practice team.
