A man was found unresponsive in the St. Lawrence River in the Pointe-aux-Trembles area of ​​Montreal late Friday morning.

It was around 11 a.m. that police officers from the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) were called to intervene with an unresponsive man in the river near Promenade-Bellerive Park.

“According to the first checks, there are no traces of violence. This event could possibly be of accidental origin,” said agent Gabriella Youakim, spokesperson for the SPVM.

The investigation is continuing to understand the circumstances behind this sad event.
