Montreal: the Pie-IX bridge closed during weekends until mid-August

The Pie-IX bridge will be completely closed on weekends, while obstacles are to be expected on the Montreal highway network, in particular the A-13 and the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine bridge.

Mobility Montreal plans to completely close the Pie-IX bridge in both directions on weekends until mid-August.

These closures in effect from Saturday 10 p.m. until Monday 5 a.m. are required as part of the repair work on Bridge IX in progress until the fall of 2023.

The Papineau-Leblanc Bridge linking Montreal and Laval will have one lane closed in each direction as of Saturday midnight, for an indefinite period.

Load restrictions will also be in effect for heavy vehicles, while the speed limit will be reduced to 70 km/h on the bridge, indicated the MTQ.

The La Fontaine tunnel will also be closed in the direction of Longueuil from Saturday 12:30 a.m. to Sunday 5 a.m., according to the Ministry of Transport.

Highway 13 in both directions, traffic will be in the opposite direction between the end of the Liesse tunnel and Highway 520, from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.

Exit 6 of route 136 eastbound will be closed during the same period, according to Mobilité Montréal, which suggests a detour via exit 7 overlooking the Jacques-Cartier bridge.

In Boucherville, the complete closure of Highway 30 eastbound at the A-20 interchange is expected from Friday 9 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.
