A motorist succumbed to his injuries on the night of Saturday to Sunday after hitting a 53-foot truck in Saint-Simon-de-Bagot, in Montérégie.
The accident took place around 3 a.m. at kilometer 145 of Highway 20 West. The driver of the car, a 37-year-old man, died instantly. He was traveling in the opposite direction on the road, according to information from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). Alcohol could have played a role in the accident, added Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the SQ at the QMI Agency.
Police investigators and reconstructionists were dispatched to the scene to determine the causes of the accident.
