The storm that hit Quebec over the weekend has calmed down, but more than 70,000 Hydro-Quebec customers were still without power early Monday morning.

According to the state company's most recent report around 3:45 a.m., 70,753 customers were still without power. As since the start of the storm on Friday, the Capitale-Nationale region is the most affected region, with 24 840 homes in the dark. Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean is just behind, with 12,638 customers without electricity. The North Shore comes next (9,789 customers), then Mauricie (5,911), the Laurentians (5,225 customers) , Bas-Saint-Laurent (4,717 customers) and Outaouais (2,359). Conversely, Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Laval did not record any outages. Note that Hydro-Québec has deployed nearly 1,100 employees since Friday in an attempt to restore power as quickly as possible.
