A man in his thirties was in critical condition Saturday night after losing control of his all-terrain vehicle (ATV) in Franklin, Montérégie.

The accident occurred around 7 p.m. at the intersection between rue de l'Église and route 201, said Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokeswoman Catherine Bernard.

The driver swerved with his mountain bike before being ejected. He was taken to a hospital center where there were fears for his life in the evening.

A collision investigation officer had to go to the scene to shed light on the causes and circumstances of the event.
